A tribute to classic Hab’s style, but reworked slightly to fit the 247 Lures components and production methods. When swift current or deeper water calls for it, this level-sink Stubby will sink a little faster than the traditional 7” and 9” Needlefish. This Stubby design also comes in handy when a swift wind is in your face to help extend that casting distance just a bit further.
As of January 2024, all 247 Needlefish lures - including this Smithfield Stubby - are being rigged standard with one treble hook on the belly swivel and a custom tied FLAG on the tail loop (no hook on the rear). These can easily be re-rigged with dressed or undressed single hooks on the rear, or a treble if you prefer. But it is 247's opinion, in agreement with many respected anglers and shop owners in the community, that a lure rigged with only one hook is distinctly better for both the striped bass as well as the angler.
